What's "dat" !!??

We are amazed daily at all of the little personality traits coming out in Georgia as she is getting older and what a SWEET disposition she has. I can definitely say she is ALL girl and loves to just sit and take it all in - not an aggressive bone in her body!  She is STILL not crawling or pulling up... but is content to sit and play quietly or roll to her next destination - ha ha! I don't think she will walk anytime soon! One of our favorite things to do is read books - she LOVES animals and likes for you to tell her the sound each animal makes when she points her cute little chubby finger at it and says" dat" !  She is truly the delight of our hearts...

Merry Christmas !

Too excited about Santa to get them all to look at the camera!

Merry Christmas to all of our dear friends and family - we hope that you spent your holiday warm and cozy sipping coffee, playing games, telling old memories/stories and creating new memories with those that you love. We did just that  - we spent the weekend with Sammy's family in Ringgold, Ga  in his parents REAL log  cabin which felt VERY Christmas-y with lots of fresh greenery and twinkling lights.  Sammy's mom ( Gammy) made lots of yummy treats and all the grand daughters were so cute in the matching PJ's she bought them.  Georgia had so much fun opening presents and tearing up tissue paper and she LOVES her new baby doll "sweet pea" !
I do have to report... the day after Christmas Sammy and I came down with a terrible stomach virus and it left us in bed for most of the day on friday - so sad ! We had so much planned with the family , but PRAISE THE LORD Gammy and Papa were there to take care of Georgia - what a blessing!  We are back in Nashville and back to being healthy ... and READY to ring in 2009! Until then... here are a few favs !

Christmas morning -  still sleepy!

It's a Dickens Christmas!

Today is one of our favorite days of the year ..." A Dickens Christmas" ! It's a wonderful step back into time as you walk down Main St. and feel as though you are a part of the CHRISTMAS CAROL movie or simply back in the 1800's when women wore big dresses and muffs and men wore scarves and top hats - so cute ! You can find all kinds of goodies to eat like roasted chestnuts, sugar plums and hot cocoa . We did not get to stay too long because it was very cold and windy but it definitely got us in the Christmas spirit.
oooohh..... Jacob Marley...

Let it SNOW !!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.... and IT DID !! hooray! It definitely felt like Christmas in Franklin as we watched the snow pour down at 5:00 last night and lasted until about 10:00 pm. It was coming down in HUGE flakes and it was so pretty to watch. Sammy and I headed out to a Christmas party last night which made it seem all the more festive. I LOVE winter and all of the cozy moments of a "snow day" - nothing sounds better than warm slippers, a fire going, a GREAT cup of Starbucks coffee and time with my family. It was very fun to wake up to a winter wonderland... but I am afraid Mr. Sun is shining and it's all melting.. sad.

Stringing up the Lights!

Today was the day to decorate the Christmas tree and Georgia was all about the bright lights and pretty colored ornaments! She likes to point to the tree with her little chubby finger and say " dat " !! Which, I am guessing means "that" ! It's so cute - it's awesome to watch her experience new things and it was so fun to put up BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS ornaments that we had received last year when I was pregnant. Time is going by so fast.... I need to treasure these sweet moments.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....everywhere you go... ( I am singing that song in my head )    Today we officially kicked off the Christmas season with the hunt for the BEST Christmas tree!  Sammy is in charge of the tree picking because he claims to have a "method" which involves picking the tree with the straightest top stem .. and I will have to say... he picks a beautiful tree every year ! It was very very cold today so Georgia stayed bundled up but she still got to look around and touch the tree and have some input too  - wink wink!
After we loaded up the tree, we grabbed a quick lunch while she took a short nap and then headed for the downtown Franklin parade. We go to the parade every year so it was really fun to take Georgia this year so she could see horses , marching bands and Santa! It was a FULL day of Christmas cheer and tomorrow it will be time to decorate the TREE! More pics to come... stay tuned!

Smoky Mountain Thanksgiving

I know , I know, this post is WAY overdue but my computer was being a bit difficult the last few days so I am now posting for Thanksgiving ( in December )  ha !
we spent Thanksgiving snuggled up in the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tn and we had a wonderful time.  Kenda , Aaron and the kids came as well as some other extended family for Thanksgiving lunch. It was so nice to be in the mountains and sit on the front porch rocker, play cards, sit by the fire, make christmas crafts and SNACK alot ! Georgia did great on her first min-vacation despite the busyness of family and sleeping in a pack and play. We are so THANKFUL for our little blessing!

 Gotta love Baby UGGS !
